Homemade scented candles

In this section of Gran Velada you will find waxes and paraffins so you can make your own homemade scented candles. In this way you can customize them with your favorite fragrances and aromatize your home to promote warm and relaxed environments.

It is important to distinguish between scented candles and scented candles. The first are any type of candle to which a pinch of essence is added so that they give off a slight aroma. Meanwhile, scented candles are candles made especially to perfume a certain room. In their composition they carry a high percentage of aromatic essence or fragrance: between 3 and 10%.

This is the main reason why most scented candles are made in glass. And it is that so much amount of essence makes wax or paraffin become softer and melt sooner. That is why it is advisable to perform them in a container. So they last longer and do not deform. In case you are going to make them in a container, from Gran Velada we recommend that you opt for GV-35 wax, which is special for this type of elaboration.

Another option is to choose any of the waxes or paraffins and add the additive GV-503. This additive for candles is especially suitable for fixing the perfume. In addition, it improves the consistency of paraffin or wax, so that it tolerates more liquid in its composition and thus more aromatic essence can be added.

This additive will allow you to make scented candles with the paraffins of this section. You just have to put it to melt in a saucepan with the chosen wax. The proportion marked by the manufacturer is between 0.1 and 4%. In this way you can make aromatic candles without having to make them in a container.
